Accountability and Vision
On New Year’s Eve all around the world people begin to make promises to their selves about the next year. Usually those promises are forgotten before January is over and not thought of again until December 31st. Here we sit again looking at the beginning of a new year making promises we have no real intention of keeping. Maybe we feel disappointed or hurt by the year that just past and wished we would have done better. Maybe there was pain, loss. Perhaps the past year was amazing and you’re afraid you’ll never do any better. So you look to the future and make some resolutions. Just to find yourself back here again next year. Why does this keep happening?! Walking into anything new while dragging weights behind you, is like a jet trying to take off while chained to the ground. First we have to deal with the past year (or years). Sit down with the Lord and be open and honest with Him and take account of the past. What or who hurt you, what was your part in it? Who have you hurt? What anger are you still holding on to? Let Him search your heart. It won’t take long, have a pen and paper with you write them down and be HONEST! Don’t twist it or defend it. It’s just you and Him. It is about taking accountability for your actions and forgiving others for theirs. If you skip this step and head straight to promises you’ll fail and next year you will be deeper in the hole believing less and less that you can actually make a change. God honors truth and He will met you where you are. Now that you have your honest account of the past year it’s time to forgive. Take the time to go through each and every one of them. Forgive for the action and the pain they caused; ask for forgiveness for the offence you took and judgements you made, then ask God to bless them. Call, visit, or write to those you’ve hurt, be honest about what you did and ask for forgiveness; a lot of times you are on the list of people to forgive. If they refuse to forgive that is on them as long as your repentance was honest God forgives you. Pray for them that they would be able to forgive so that they too may be free. As always be Led! (For more help with forgiveness click here to contact us) Then after each one declare this: According to Matthew 6:15 I have forgiven so my Father will also forgive me. 1John1:9 when I confess my sin God is faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. According to Matthew 18:18 in place the cross between me and _________ and sever any ties the enemy has placed there. I receive my forgiveness now and declare I have been cleansed from all unrighteousness. I put on Jesus’ righteousness and walk in the freedom, power and love He has given me. I plead the blood of Jesus over these situations and declare myself and others free In Jesus Name! NOW YOU ARE FREE! Chains broken, covered in the blood and ready for takeoff. If the enemy brings these things up say I am forgiven, I am free and end the conversation. And start praising the Lord, out loud. Don’t allow him to talk. Fear, anger, pain, and loss are horrible motivators but understanding how loved you are that you are called and anointed to do these things! That is a motivator! Now let’s talk about VISION! Maybe you were feeling afraid of what the New Year will bring people without vision fear the future.
Genesis 13:14-16 14 And the Lord said unto Abram after Lot was separated from him, “Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art, northward and southward and eastward and westward; 15 for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it and to thy seed for ever. 16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. 17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it, for I will give it unto thee.” 18 Then Abram removed his tent and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the Lord.
God said to Abram Lift up your eyes and look from where you are.
Look where your going…..If you don’t like where you are now, that’s ok it’s just the vantage point to see where you’re headed.
Then the Lord shows Abram God’s vision for his future, He says, “All that you see I will give it to you and your seed forever.”
What does God say about what you see.
Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it, for I will give it unto thee.” Then Abram removed his tent and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron,
Get up and DO IT! Make a plan be active towards the vision. ALWAYS be led and stay excited! The journey IS the adventure!
and built there an altar unto the Lord.
Praise the Lord the on the way! Give Him glory, sing, dance, and worship believing He is leading you to your promised place!

Luke 4:18-19 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Isaiah 60:1-5 “Arise, shine [Yerushalayim], for your light has come, the glory of Adonai has risen over you. 2 For although darkness covers the earth and thick darkness the peoples; on you Adonai will rise; over you will be seen his glory. 3 Nations will go toward your light and kings toward your shining splendor. 4 Raise your eyes and look around: they are all assembling and coming to you; your sons are coming from far off, your daughters being carried on their nurses’ hips. 5 Then you will see and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with delight; for the riches of the seas will be brought to you, the wealth of nations will come to you. Ephesians 5:12-16 13 But everything exposed to the light is revealed clearly for what it is, 14 since anything revealed is a light. This is why it says, “Get up, sleeper! Arise from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you!” 15 Therefore, pay careful attention to how you conduct your life — live wisely, not unwisely. 16 Use your time well, for these are evil days.
