Does God Really Need Me? Being a Christian in The Last Days

I once heard someone say, "God is so big, powerful, and all knowing that He doesn't need me, I just need Him." While most of that is true, God is big, He is more powerful than we can imagine, He knows the end from the beginning, and our need for Him is unfathomable, but God needs us. I know that may sound strange to you but it is the way He set it up. God wanted a family He wanted children made in His image, to be like Him. Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. In the Hebrew this verse reads a bit differently. Adonai, God formed a person (adam) from the dust of the ground (adamah) and breathed into his nostrils the (Ruach, breath or spirit) of life so that he became a living speaking spirit like God. God had never before created something and then breathed His spirit into it. Actually He had never given anything else on Earth a spirit. Animals had souls (mind, will, and emotions) but nothing else had an eternal spirit like God. They were so unique that an angel asked, "What is man that you are mindful of him?". God made us to be like Him. He gave us a spirit like Him so that we could communicate with Him, like Him. Then the Almighty God gave us the power and authority over the Earth. To speak things into existence, to sow and reap a harvest of love and blessing. One day Adam gave this great power and authority over to satan. Then one glorious Passover day Jesus the lamb of God, paid the price went to hell and took it back! Then once again gave it to us! As you can see we are unique! We are powerful and we are needed! Lend your vessel to God, your power, your authority, so that God can get done what He needs to do in this time. I keep thinking about when Peter was beaten and imprisoned for believing that Jesus is the Messiah. His church family prayed and an angel appeared to Peter waking him up and leading him OUT of the enemies camp. All these people taken tortured and beaten for Believing in Jesus are praying for a miracle. I believe Peter got his miracle because a group of believers came together in agreement with God and His Plan. They lent their power and authority to God through praying in the spirit and MIRACULOUS things happened! Only through us can God do this. He made it that way. We are vessels created in His image able to hold His spirit and his power. We are created to sound like Him, that we could pray and speak like Him, led by the Holy Spirit in His Power!

Acts 12 Peter imprisoned

Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Passover to bring him forth to the people.

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.

And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.
